Thanes A/L Kerisnan, Karunagaran A/L Manoharan, and Saravanan A/L Vellayutham were acquitted of murder charges in the High Court of Johor Bharu. The victim, Kuppusamy A/L Ramasamy, died following a fight outside a pub in 2017. Despite the prosecution’s case involving 20 witnesses, the defense, represented by Aliff Bolkin and Revin Kumar, who took on the case during the defense stage, successfully raised reasonable doubt. Judge YA Dr Shahnaz Binti Sulaiman acquitted the men, leading to joyous reactions from their friends and family in the packed courtroom. The trio had surrendered themselves to the police upon learning they were wanted.
