Acquitted of drug trafficking charges.

In Shah Alam, the High Court acquitted 26-year-old Dinesh a/l Thevaras, who was facing a charge under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death penalty upon conviction. Represented by counsels Dato Geethan Ram Vincent and Revin Kumar, the defense presented evidence that the accused was at Coffee Box Restaurant with his brother at the time of the alleged offense. They also argued that the car in question did not belong to the accused but to his sister-in-law. The prosecution claimed that the accused was found with methamphetamine in his possession during a police stakeout. However, the defense countered that the accused was not even present in the parking lot at the time. After evaluating both sides, the judge ruled that the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case, leading to the acquittal of the accused without the need for the defense to present their version of events.
