Three Men Found Not Guilty of Trafficking Over 115kg of Ice

In Shah Alam, three men—Ikhwan Amir Bin Ab Rahim, Mohd Azahan Bin Yusof, and Ng Soon Kuan—were acquitted of drug trafficking charges by the High Court. Judge Datuk Abdul Karim bin Abdul Jalil ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. The men were charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act for trafficking 115,374.5 grams of methamphetamine found in a Toyota Hilux at Tesco Extra Ampang on 21St January 2018

Defense counsel for Ikhwan and Mohd Azahan argued that they were not in the Hilux but in a white Alphard before their arrest. During the trial, 19 witnesses, including seven members of the public, testified. Ikhwan and Mohd Azahan were represented by Dato’ Geethan Ram Vincent and Revin Kumar, while Ng was represented by Alfred Egin. The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Tuan Ahmad Naznin.
